Workshop in Antananarivo

Workshop in Antananarivo

Bringing together bryophytes specialists from September 23rd to October 7th 2018

Goals

The goals of this workshop is to identify the maximum of diversity of Malagasy Bryophytes, using TAN collections. As you may see on our Blog, the collections are sorted, pre-identified at the best level we can. But we need an identification at the species level.
For that we need specialists to spend time under the microscope, and we proposed to several specialists to come one week in Antananarivo in order to work at the herbarium and to identify the collections.
The identifications will be uploaded on the GBIF IPT server and will enrich the records of the BRYOTAN project.

Organization in Antananarivo

A room is dedicated to identification in the PBZT Herbarium.  Each specialist will get a binocular magnifier and a microscope. The collection concerning his favorite groups will be available.
Students from master at Université d'Antananarivo and from Mahajanga University will help for the workshop organization and will be trained to bryophytes identification.

Visit of the East Forest

Indri Indri in Analamazoatra Forest, Mitsinjo project
